JJ Grey and Mofro at the amphitheater tonight, so I'm soaking up the last of the sun and forcing myself to write before I go sing along to somebody else's songs — Florida soul always makes me want something honest of my own. Tell me you'd sit on this deck and hear the rough version first.
Up late wrestling a verse into shape before J Roddy Walston takes Blue Jay tonight — the clothes lost that argument somewhere around the second rewrite. Come finish this line with me?
Vaultboy plays The Albatross tonight and I can't stop smiling about it — a Jacksonville kid selling out his own hometown room is exactly the fuel my warmups needed. Tell me you'll be in the crowd the night it's my name on that marquee.
Halloween weekend finally won, so I surrendered to the beach for a reset before this week gets loud again — and Grace Potter on Friday is already giving me a reason to behave until then. Tan lines are negotiable, the playlist isn't. Come hold my spot on this sand?
Jaguars and Colts at EverBank and the tailgate is already my whole personality — teal from head to toe because obviously, and the cooler isn't going to load itself. Tell me you'd claim the seat next to me.
Two showers deep and I'm still finding glitter from the crawl. Hairball hits the Florida Theatre tonight and my voice has to survive Van Halen, KISS, Motley Crue AND Queen. Tell me you'd hold my spot in that crowd.
Made it home from the crawl with the horns still on and glitter in places glitter has no business being. The costume lost the war but I refuse to surrender the horns yet. Tell me your Halloween was worth it too.
Downtown Halloween crawl starts in an hour and my costume is still in pieces on the bed — everything's off and nothing's decided. Tell me what to keep on.
Casa Marina's costume contest is calling and Harley Quinn is answering — the shirt gave up before the makeup was even done. Tell me this look wins the prize.
The Florida Theatre is doing Ghostbusters with a live orchestra tonight, so Halloween came early at my house — the coveralls are doing 90% of the costume and I'm not sorry. Who you gonna call?
